Met Office issues severe weather warning as thick fog forces cancellation of more than 80 flights at Heathrow

Heavy fog has halted planes across England and Europe today, with Heathrow Airport cancelling more than 80 flights, pictured right, as pilots battle visibility problems, centre. Misty scenes were created across the country while the Met Office issued a severe weather warning because of the heavy fog which is set to continue into tomorrow. It continues a year of unusual weather in Britain which will see red rain later this month.
